||This one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate Program provides students with knowledge of the organizational structures within the retirement community industry and various philosophies of care in preparation for careers as managers and administrators or pursue other opportunities. Retirement Community Management involves a broad range of responsibilities in the day-to-day operations including human resources, recruitment, fiscal management, resident care, food service operations, marketing, recreation activities and environmental services. The program includes current federal, provincial and municipal laws and statutes central to the success of this expanding industry.
Students apply management principles specific to all departments in retirement communities through a variety of activities, case studies and a field placement. Students plan, implement and execute fiscal and operational strategies to optimize organizational efficiency. Focus also includes knowledge of resident care best practices relevant to the continuum of care and resident satisfaction.

Applicants with International transcripts must provide proof of the subject specific requirements noted above along with proof of either: IELTS-International English Language Testing Service-Overall band of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each band; OR TOEFL-Internet-based (iBT)-overall 88, with the minimum of 22 in each component: Reading 22; Listening: 22; Speaking: 22; Writing: 22.

||Applicants are required to have successful completion of a recognized post-secondary institution degree or diploma (college or university) in one of the preferred subject areas OR a minimum of three (3) years relevant management/work experience: Health Science/Community Services, Food and Nutrition Management, Nursing, Recreation and Leisure, Hospitality and Tourism with Accommodation or Food and Beverage, or Business Administration.
