||Acadia's School of Education, with support from Open Acadia and the Division of Research and Graduate Studies, offers admission to part-time MEd programs for cohort groups of professional educators living in specific geographic areas or working in specialized areas. A graduate program of courses is scheduled for each cohort, typically over a two-year period, and then cohort members proceed through the designated program together as a group.
The Inclusive Education program is designed for individuals possessing some background in inclusive schooling and wishing to prepare for leadership roles in the area of inclusive education. This program for educators aims to:
Explore multiple perspectives of social difference;
Challenge dominant discourses of democratic action, empowerment, and change;
Focus on equity and social justice within diverse cultural frameworks;
Investigate current inclusive education theory and practice from an interdisciplinary perspective.

|Additional Admission Requirements:
Experience: Two years of successful teaching or related experience.
Documents: Two references from persons conversant with the applicant's academic and professional ability. Applicants whose undergraduate degree is conferred five or more years ago, or who have a Master's degree, may substitute a professional reference for the academic reference. All other applicants must provide an academic reference (downloadable forms are available at http://gradstudies.acadiau.ca/Graduate_Admissions.html).
One official transcript from every post-secondary institution attended.
A letter of intent describing the nature and focus of study within Inclusive Education they wish to pursue. This letter should include a discussion of relevant academic study and professional experience related to the applicant's program interests.
For all international applicants, a copy of passport (only page 1 and 2) is also required.
