||The purpose of the PhD Program in Nursing is to prepare researchers capable of providing leadership in the advancement of knowledge through the conduct of research, the dissemination and application of findings to nursing and health care. Students work in collaboration with their research supervisors to develop a training program that will meet their particular interests and needs. Beyond the core course requirements, students are encouraged to gain advanced expertise in research methods by taking advantage of the wide range of course offerings available at UBC as well as participating in seminars, colloquia, conferences and independent studies. Interdisciplinary collaboration is promoted. We have created an environment in which doctoral students establish collegial relationships with the School's professors and with each other.
