Description The Master of Science in Health Science Education program offers online courses in learning and curriculum, simulation/technical & non-technical skills, online learning, educational leadership, assessment and evaluation, and research methods. In addition, two mandatory in-person residency periods must be completed. The program offers students two completion pathways: a course-based option which is offered in online format through part-time studies (full time may be considered with special permission), or a thesis-based option offered in either part-time or full-time studies. Non-health practitioners will only be considered for the full-time, thesis stream. The program will be highly accessible through blended delivery of online and in-class formats.

Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 92] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 550] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 237] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]

Applicants whose native language is not English will be required to submit an official copy of their TOEFL score, or other evidence of competency in English is required. A minimum TOEFL (iBT) score of 92 (550 on the paper-based TOEFL test or 237 on the computer-based TOEFL test) is needed for the Faculty of Health Sciences. Students taking the IELTS are required to achieve a minimum score of 6.5 with a minimum score of 5.5 in each category. Equivalent scores on other recognized tests may also be considered. Each of these scores are only valid for 2 years. Students who have completed an Academic ESL program through Canadian academic institutions may petition to have this considered in lieu of TOEFL. Applicants may be exempted from this requirement if they have completed a university degree at which English is the language of instruction.
