Description This diploma program offered by the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences is designed for a variety of counselling professionals who wish to specialize in Addiction Counselling and treatment by broadening their understanding of the etiological factors that contribute to substance abuse and the various treatment modalities that are available. The Postgraduate Diploma in Addiction Studies is a three-semester (11 month) program consisting of five, three unit courses and one 1.5 unit course intended to be taken sequentially. Two courses of seven weeks duration are offered in each of the first two semesters and one course of seven weeks duration and one course of 3.5 weeks duration are offered in the third and final semester. Grading is on a pass / fail basis. The program is offered beginning each January (Winter), May (Spring) and September (Fall) trimester.
