Description The MN in Advanced Practice provides an intensive practicum-based experience for students. Courses and practicum experiences are intended to enhance knowledge and skills in the following five main areas: clinical and community practice, research and evidence-based practice, leadership/management, teaching/learning, and inter-professional practice. Highlights include 700 hours of practica opportunities in various areas of practice including clinical, leadership, teaching and research. Students also decide the population focus (ie, neonate, child, adult, family/all ages or community/ organization). In addition, students can choose to focus on older adults through the specialization in Aging which allows a focus on care for the older adult in an acute or continuing care setting or in a community or home care setting. The specialization in Aging is indicated on the student’s transcript and degree at program completion.
