||This is an exciting time in human history. Technological growth, environmental shifts and increased global connectivity not only pose challenges to our current perspectives but also offer unprecedented and unforeseen opportunities. We need a whole new way of seeing the world, starting with a new understanding of the critical role architecture plays in creating a vibrant future.
At Ryerson, our mission is to prepare the next generation of architectural leaders to think critically, act collaboratively and respond with sustainable solutions to local opportunities and global challenges. To do so, we admit no more than thirty highly qualified students each year into the Ryerson M.Arch. Program. By providing individual attention to each student’s professional development we create an environment in which you will grow not just as a skilled professional, but also as a design leader and agent of positive change.

- International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 7] or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery [min. 85] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 93] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70]
The Ryerson M.Arch. progam provides instruction in English. Applicants whose previous studies were in a language other than English are required to pass a test of English language proficiency. Applicants may demonstrate facility in English using one of the following methods: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); International English Language Testing System (IELTS); and Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB).
|Additional Admission Requirements:
You must hold a pre-professional undergraduate degree in architecture equivalent to the Ryerson Bachelor of Architectural Science, with a minimum B grade average overall in the last two years of study. College programs and degrees that are not part of a pre-professional architecture program are normally considered insufficient preparation for the program. We will consider applicants with non-standard backgrounds, provided they can demonstrate an overall competency in all areas of building design and construction beyond the experience level of a pre-professional degree. If this describes your situation, then we encourage you to contact us for more information. All applicants are required to provide a sophisticated portfolio demonstrating the necessary background to pursue Master’s-level work in architecture, as well as two letters of recommendation.
