Description The Schools of Information Management (SIM) and Resource and Environmental Studies (SRES) offer the combined MLIS/MREM – the first such combined degree in Canada. Students are introduced to the development and significance of information management, to the underlying principles of the profession, and to the techniques of information organization, analysis, retrieval and use, with special relevance for environmental management. Graduates are uniquely qualified to provide leadership within public and private organizations, and to offer innovative information management solutions in the resource and environmental sectors. Graduates address the biophysical and socio-political dimensions of resource and environmental management. The MLIS/MREM combined degree is a 28-month course of study leading to the combined degrees Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) and Master of Resource and Environmental Management (MREM).
