||The program takes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of politics and is committed to critical thinking and political change. Its particular focuses include critical political economy; critical social theory; critical global politics; feminist politics; the history of political thought; social movements & social justice; theories of power, and justice & democracy.
It features diplomas in democratic administration and international & security studies, although students may take other graduate diplomas offered at York concurrently with their MA or PhD in political science.

- Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 600] or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery [min. 85] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 100] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 7.5]
|Additional Admission Requirements:
Applicants are required to have an MA in Political Science, with at least a B+ average, from a recognized university; evidence of a strong academic record with particular emphasis on the ability to do independent research (the written work submitted with the application is extremely important in this regard).
