Description |
The M.Sc. in Geography, Urban, and Environmental Studies provides students with the theoretical foundation and analytical tools they need to better understand human interventions in the environment.
The M.Sc. program provides a stimulating intellectual environment in which students are encouraged to explore multidisciplinary perspectives. Students examine and apply various conceptual and methodological frameworks that fall within three broad environmental categories: natural or bio-physical environment; human, cultural, or behavioural environment; urban, built, or designed environment. |
Areas of Research: |
The Department has expertise in a wide range of research areas related to geography, planning and environment. Current research topics include river management, port development and planning, urban design, immigration, sustainable forestry, indigeneous resource management, sustainable transportation, population and environment, economic development, and metropolitan government. |
