||The L.L.M. at UBC Law is a research-intensive degree that prepares graduates for opportunities in law teaching, legal research, policy development, public and governmental service, and the practice of law. The program attracts students with overseas common and civil law training, as well as those with LL.B. or J.D. degrees from Canada and the United States.
The degree requirements include course work and a thesis. The focal point of the degree (and most of the course credits) is the thesis. Working closely with a supervising faculty member, students in the LLM program are expected to produce a substantial piece of original legal scholarship and of publishable quality.
