Description The Department of Secondary Education is widely recognized nationally and internationally for its outstanding graduate programs and regularly attracts students from around the world. Doctoral students from Secondary Education have been highly successful in winning prestigious Killam and SSHRC doctoral fellowships during their programs and in gaining academic appointments in leading universities following graduation. Students enrolled in graduate programs in the department master’s and doctoral level express very high levels of satisfaction. Graduate programs in the Department normally include advanced studies in the following areas: subject matter specialization, curriculum theory, pedagogical theory, teaching, teacher education, cultural studies, and enquiry into curriculum perspectives and educational practices. Programs of an interdisciplinary nature are possible. Programs for each student are designed in consultation with an advisor.

Applicants may also take a PTE with a minimum score of 59 in order to prove their English proficiency.
