Doctorate of Theology: Canonical Degree
|Field of Study:
||The Doctorate in Theology is a graduate program providing students with the knowledge, skills and training required to carry out original research in the field of theology. The principal objective of the program is to provide the opportunity for deeper reflection on a specific theological problem which would lead to an original research contribution in one of the two fields of theology studied at DUC (Sources or Theological reflection). The program aims for students to acquire mastery of the research skills of both primary and secondary sources (in their original languages) and to critically apply the results of their research to current theological questions. Students will be invited to participate in active discussions on theological issues in order to foster critical thinking, and master writing and communication skills. There are scholarships and bursaries available to DUC doctoral students which enables them to better focus on their studies and research.
