Description We are an exciting and innovative Unit that provides tertiary Critical Care services to southeastern Ontario, particularly the area bounded by Cornwall, Smiths Falls, and Cobourg. Our Unit is a busy 21 bed multidisciplinary ICU. We provide care for all ventilated patients in the hospital, support the Trauma program and manage complicated post-cardiovascular surgical cases. The Unit offers up to date care including high frequency oscillation and continuous renal replacement therapies. Adults and children are cared for within the ICU. Affiliated with the ICU is a 4 bed Cardiovascular Recovery Unit for elective postoperative cardiovascular patients managed by the Cardiac Anaesthesiologist. We offer a 2 year Critical Care training fellowship accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. The Program also includes experience in Paediatric ICU, community ICU, and opportunities for research.
