Description The Department of Politics at Acadia University offers a 12-month, thesis-based Master of Arts (MA) program to a small and select cohort of students. These students are drawn from the Atlantic region, across Canada, and around the world. The program fosters a close relationship between MA students and faculty in order to offer a flexible and rigorous academic foundation. The program provides comprehensive training in the discipline for those students who wish to continue their studies at the PhD level. It also prepares students for work in the public and private sector, in the areas of journalism, advocacy, international development and organization, education, and law. The following must be submitted; three letters of reference, curriculum vitae, undergraduate university transcripts, sample of recent written work (maximum 15 pages, double spaced), and your general statement of proposed thesis research. The written sample should be a minimum of 10 pages. A research essay completed for an upper level undergraduate course is appropriate, but the submitted copy should be free of instructors' marks and comments. For all international applicants, a copy of passport (only page 1 and 2) is also required.
