Students spend 2 semesters working in small interdisciplinary teams with faculty and mentors on real-world industry-supported projects. The MDM program's close ties with industry also means that students have a wide range of options for their internships and can secure internships that fit with their overall career objectives.

Areas of Expertise

Because Digital Media blends different types of media, it requires working in multi-skilled teams. For example, if you’re working on building a mobile health application, you need a variety of skill sets to build the app. You may need a programmer, a designer, an animator and a project manager. All of these people come from a variety of backgrounds and skill sets and they need to work together to build that tool. The Master of Digital Media program was uniquely designed to fill a skill gap in the digital media industry to teach people from different backgrounds and with different skill sets to understand each other, work together and execute a project with a cohesive vision. The Master of Digital Media program is not just about understanding the technical skills that people bring with them to a project, it's also about understanding team dynamics, leadership, adaptability and knowing the creative process from the ground up.
