As researchers, learners, and teachers, graduate students at Simon Fraser University contribute to many aspects of the intellectual and cultural life of the institution.
Doctoral programs engage students in research, either independently or in collaboration with larger research groups. Masters programs introduce students to the research process or prepare them with critical and analytical skills for the professions. Graduate diploma programs provide specialized combinations of courses for students who wish to upgrade their knowledge and skills at an advanced level.
More than 4000 graduate students in over 45 programs participate in research and critical thinking. With more than 60 countries represented, they also contribute to the diversity of our student community. Graduate students can also get involved in undergraduate teaching by working as teaching assistants in tutorials and laboratories in many undergraduate programs.
