A two- to three-semester independent research project is undertaken in the field of structures and structural materials; infrastructure rehabilitation; risk engineering; fluid mechanics and hydraulics; materials engineering; soil behaviour; soil mechanics and foundations; water resources engineering; environmental engineering; and transportation engineering.

Prerequisites:

Students must have achieved a cumulative gradepoint average equivalent to 3.0 out of a possible 4.0, in a recognized program. Alternatively, an equivalent gradepoint average of 3.2 over the last two years of the program will be accepted.

Applications will be considered upon receipt of: application form; two official transcripts; two confidential letters of reference sent directly by the referees; Ph.D. applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from their master's research supervisor; $100 application fee; test results (TOEFL).
