Description: All Master's programs within the Department of Chemical Engineering comprise coursework and research. Opportunities exist for graduate students who want to focus on independent research, and gain experience in applying the scientific method. Students who want a traditional classroom-based education can follow a program focused on coursework. The programs have evolved to accommodate students with diverse scientific backgrounds and career goals. However, the sole requirement that remains constant is academic excellence. Note that applicants who already hold a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering cannot enter our Master's program.

Prerequisites:

Admission to graduate studies requires a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 (or equivalent) for the complete bachelor's program, or a minimum GPA of 3.2/4.0 (or equivalent) in the last two years of full-time studies. Applicants to graduate studies whose mother tongue is not English, and who have not completed an undergraduate or graduate degree from a recognized foreign institution where English is the language of instruction or from a recognized Canadian institution (anglophone or francophone), must achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 90 on the Internet-based test with each component score not less than 20 (577 on the paper-based test) prior to admission.
