Description: The Anthropology graduate program is designed to provide students with leading edge training in theoretical and methodological approaches to the discipline. Graduates of the program will be well-prepared to continue their studies at the doctoral level in anthropology , health or environmental studies, professional programs, or to pursue private sector opportunities in the health, social services, environmental, or cultural sectors. Research interests of participating faculty include local, national, and international issues. Our faculty have undertaken research in Canada and throughout the world, including Alaska, Barbados, Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Mexico, Peru, and Turkey, as well as other parts of eastern Europe.

Our Masters program emphasizes two streams: medical anthropology and environmental anthropology. The University of Saskatchewan is rich in resources and faculty in these areas, having more trained medical anthropologists and environmental anthropologists on faculty than almost any other Canadian university.
