The Graduate Program originated in 1973 with a Masters in Physical Education. Today we offer the following three Master’s degrees: MSc (Exercise & Sport Science), MA (Sport & Recreation Studies) and MBA (Sport and Recreation Management)). The Graduate Program of the Faculty of Kinesiology is designed to blend the best of theory with the best of practice. The program endeavours to provide a unique individualized opportunity for advanced study, research, and work experience in selected areas of exercise, sport, wellness, recreation, and leisure. |

| ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS |

Applications will be considered from candidates holding a four-year undergraduate degree in kinesiology, physical education, recreation, or a related discipline with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 or 4.3 GPA scale (a B average, North American System; an upper second class standing, British System; or equivalent). Candidates who do not meet the minimum cumulative grade point average may be considered for admission if they provide evidence of excellent academic work during the last two years of their program (i.e., a minimum 3.7 GPA or A- average), or for those who would be returning to school a minimum of two years after completion of an undergraduate degree if they provide evidence of appropriate and excellent professional, scholarly or work experience. All prospective candidates must submit a letter outlining both their career and research goals, and indicate their choice of a supervising faculty member(s). In all cases candidates must satisfy the general admission policy of the School of Graduate Studies as noted in the "General Regulations, Standards and Procedures" section of the on-line calendar. Admission is on a competitive basis and satisfaction of the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. The program is open to both full-time and part-time candidates.
