Description: The Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences offers graduate programs leading to the M.VetSc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees. Discipline areas include Animal Biochemistry, Developmental Anatomy, Gross and Applied Anatomy, Microscopic Anatomy and Ultrastructure, Pharmacology, Physiology and Toxicology.

Areas of Research: Areas of faculty research interest include studies in cardiovascular physiology, stress physiology, gastrointestinal biochemistry, toxicology, pulmonary pathobiology, neuroscience, pharmacology, and reproductive biology. Students are expected to gain a detailed understanding of their area of interest and appropriate related material within the more general discipline areas outlined above.

Prerequisites:

Applicants must hold a four-year B.S.c (Honours) in veterinary medicine or relevant field. A cumulative weighted average of at least 70% (U of S grade system equivalent) in the last two years of study (i.e. 60 credit units).
