Cell and molecular biological approaches are used to address questions in the areas of cell and developmental biology and the biology of the cardiovascular and nervous systems. A common thread is in addressing how cells respond to environmental stresses. The overall research enterprise of the department covers a wide range of topics that examine basic cellular processes such as chromatin remodeling, neural regeneration, tissue development, gene expression and cellular growth and differentiation. |
