| Description: |
Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry offers a two-year D.D.S. Qualifying Program that prepares graduates of international dental programs to become certified to practise dentistry in Canada. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the National Dental Examining Board Exams in preparation for licensing in Canada. The program is designed to prepare students to practise their chosen profession with a sound knowledge of current techniques and a thorough understanding of the related biological sciences. It also provides students with an understanding of the role of the dentist as a health professional in the community. Students enrolled in the D.D.S. Qualifying Program who successfully complete all first year requirements will become students in the Doctor of Dental Surgery program; and are awarded the D.D.S. degree upon successful completion of the second year. Classes in the D.D.S. Qualifying Program begin on the first Monday in April, with graduation two years later at the end of May. |
